PM Modi arrives in Leh

Leh | August 12 :Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi has arrived in Leh where he is scheduled to address a rally today. He is also going to visit Kargil later in the day.

This is the PM’s first visit to both these places after assuming his office.

He will be laying the foundation stone for the Leh-Srinagar transmission line. Also, he will inaugurate two hydro-power projects in Ladakh as well as address citizens in the region.

While security has been tightened ahead of PM Modi’s visit, the local residents seemed excited by his visit.

A local resident told news agency, “We are very hopeful of the PM’s visit to Leh, we hope some of our demands will be fulfilled.”
