PM for taking steps to safeguard existing mobile phone service

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Friday directed Interior Minister Rehman Malik to ensure that every possible measure was taken to safeguard the existing mobile phone service from elements who misuse it without causing any inconvenience to the common man.The Prime Minister gave these directions in a meeting with the Interior Minister, who called on him here at the Prime Minister House.The Prime Minister said that mobile phone was an essential requirement of the modern day life and citizens of Pakistan must continue to enjoy this facility without any disruption.Rehman Malik briefed the Prime Minister about the steps taken by the Interior Ministry on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr for preempting any untoward incident. He said that the decision of blocking mobile phone facility in certain areas played a critical role in maintaining peace during the Eid days.(KMW News)
