Jammu, March 8: Provincial President National Conference Mr Devender Singh Rana on Tuesday lambasted PDP for facilitating direct RSS rule in Jammu and Kashmir by showing indecisiveness in forming the government.
“There is every apprehension of the BJP led government appointing any RSS Pracharak as Governor of the State to trample the special identity of the State”, Rana said while addressing senior party functionaries at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here.
Citing unhealthy democratic practices unleashed by BJP appointed Governors in various states of the country; he feared the political uncertainty may lead to a situation where the current well-meaning, impartial and highly decorated and accomplished incumbent in the Raj Bhavan may be replaced by a person owing allegiance to Nagpur and Jhandewalla.
Describing Jammu and Kashmir as a politically sensitive state, the Provincial President said the legislative powers vested with the Governor can create a picquint situation if a person with motivated ideology replaces the current incumbent. “PDP will entirely be responsible for such an ugly development as its indecisiveness has potential of prolonging the political stalemate and gubernatorial rule”, he said.
Rana charged PDP of bartering trust of electors and said if any political proprietary remains in its leadership, they should either form the government or intimate the Governor accordingly so that process for snap polls can be initiated, as National Conference, being the third largest party as far as numbers in the Assembly are concerned, has already ruled out any possibility of its joining any alliance.
The Provincial President said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have a reason to feel deceived, as the PDP-BJP government did not only fail in ten months but also plunged the state into unprecedented uncertainty. He blamed the duo for steering the state to a political morass due to lust for power and greed to accomplish their respective sinister agendas.
“National Conference is ready for elections”, he declared amidst applause of the party office bearers.
While hailing the Governor’s Administration for responsive and effective governance, Rana asked if this dispensation can undertake Jhelum dredging, liquaidate employees GFP claims, taking government to people’s door steps, why the PDP-BJP failed in taking any decision. Instead they remained in competition to generate controversies by inciting passions, headed.
