JAMMU, KMW News: Minister for Industries and Commerce today lashed out at the PDP calling it parties of hypocrates who are habitual of double speak. Addressing a large gathering of people at Birpur, Slathia said that the PDP is a party with two faces which has a nefarious and insidious agenda of dividing the state along communal lines. He said unnerved by the wave of unprecedented development sweeping even the remotest corners of the State, the PDP has started resorting to empty sloganeering to confuse the people of the State.
He said that the people of the state have now realized that development does not come by slogans alone. He said that the PDP stands exposed in the eyes of the people and that is the reason of its panic and desperation.
He said that the Chief Minister in the spirit of a pioneer has unleashed a major phase of development in the State not witnessed so far.
The Minister said that it was the result of the vision and democratic belief of the Chief Minister that for the first time in the history of the State that Devolution of Powers to the people has taken place. He said that the NC Led Coalition has taken steps which will change the face of the State in the years to come. Listing the achievements of the coalition, he said massive fillip to the Power sector which will make J&K Power surplus state in next 5-6 years, opening of new ITIs and Polytechnics in every district, Voluntary Service allowance under SKEWPY, revival of State accountability commission and Information Commission, implementation of the Public Services Guarantee Act, regularization of daily wagers and I/c Lecturers and teachers of the School Education Department for the first time as an one time exception giving industry status to the tourism sector were proof of the seriousness with which development is being pursued.
Slathia said that during PDP’s rule, not even a single MW of power was added. He further said that the PDP deliberately let the Panchayats and Municipalities perish by not holding elections to them, fiscal deficit increased manifold, colleges were opened in an adhoc manner. He said slogans of self rule and dual currency were fed to the people which led to communal polarization.
The Minister further stated that the coalition government has the best interests of people in mind and is sparing no effort in ameliorating the lot of the common man. He urged the people to remain cautious of the designs of opportunistic parties like PDP and of their attempts to divide them. He appealed to the people to strengthen the hands of the coalition government.
Mr Slathia inaugurated lanes and drains in Upper Birpur Ward No.7 constructed at a cost of Rs 8 lakhs.
Responding to the demands of the people, the Minister directed the concerned authority black-topping of three link roads in the area will be completed before 31st March of 2011. He further directed to the authority to identify the land for already proposed dispensary in the area, for which Rs 25 lakh has been already sanctioned by the government.
Earlier, he also inaugurated Patwar Khana at Birpur which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 5 lakhs.
