Islamabad, Oct 22: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday condemned the killing of seven civilians following a gunfight in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district yesterday while calling for resolution of Kashmir dispute.
In a tweet, Khan asked India to resolve the issue according to the wishes of Kashmiri people.
“Strongly condemn the new cycle of killings of innocent Kashmiris in IOK by Indian security forces. It is time India realised it must move to resolve the Kashmir dispute through dialogue in accordance with the UN SC resolutions & the wishes of the Kashmiri people,†tweeted Khan.
Pertinently, On Sunday, seven civilians were killed in Laroo village in a blast caused by explosives left at the site of an encounter in which government forces killed three local militants. More than 20 civilians were wounded, five of them with bullets and the rest with pellets, as government forces opened fire at protestors near the encounter site.Â
