HARARE: Pakistan continued their winning streak and outplayed Zimbabwe again in the first of the two Twenty20 Internationals here at the Harare Sports Club ground on Friday.
Chasing a difficult winning target of 199 runs, Zimbabwe could not resist against accurate bowling and alert fielding by Pakistanis and were bundled out for 113 runs in 15.2 overs.
Earlier, Pakistan piled up 198-4 after being put into bat by Zimbabwe skipper Brandan Taylor.
Later, Hafeez joined by debutant Rameez Raja junior and both took the score to 147 when Hafeez was out after making 71 off 48 balls. He hit six fours and three sixes. It was his maiden half-century in T20 career.
Rameez made 23 while Umar Akmal remained not out on 22. Shoaib Malik failed again scoring seven runs but Sohail Tanveer smashed 17 unbeaten runs off just five balls with two towering sixes.
In reply, only four Zimbabwean batsmen could reach double figures as Mohammad Hafeez in an allround display captured four wickets for just 10 runs while Sohail Khan took two for 13.
For Pakistan three players – Aizaz Cheema, Rameez Raja (2) and Yasir Shah made their T20I debut while Kyle Jarvis played his first T20I for Zimbabwe.
