Pakistan condemns Mumbai blasts

New Delhi: Pakistan has condemned the serial blasts in Mumbai last evening and conveyed its sympathies to the Indian leadership over the loss of life and property.
Reports from Islamabad said the Pakistan Foreign Office has issued a statement conveying the reaction of the Pakistan President and the Prime Minister to the incident “President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, the government and the people of Pakistan, have condemned the blasts in Mumbai and expressed distress on the loss of lives and injuries,” the statement said. “The President and the Prime Minister have expressed their deepest sympathies to the Indian leadership, on the loss of lives, injuries and damage to property in Mumbai,” it added. Three explosions at different locations rocked Mumbai this evening and claimed over 10 lives and left more than 80 injured. The first blast took place in Zaveri Bazaar, another in the Opera House business district and a third in Dadar district. Mumbai was hit by a terrorist attack in 2008 which had claimed 166 lives. The India-Pakistan composite dialogue had been suspended in the wake of the attack. The dialogue has been resumed again and foreign ministers of the two countries are scheduled to meet later this month here.
