Jammu: Pakistan troops violated ceasefire while an infiltration bid was foiled from across the fence in bordering Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official spokesman here today said.
A group of infiltrators supported by cover firing from across the Line of Control tried to sneak into the Indian Territory late last night but Army successfully foiled the attempt, the spokesman said.
“The Pakistan troops last night at around 2230 hrs fired small arms to support infiltration from their Daku and Yellow Bomb posts on forward Kranti-1 and Kranti-2 posts in Nangi Tekri area of Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch,” the spokesman this morning told.
He said on seeing the suspicious movement, Army also retaliated and fired small arms to push back the infiltrators.
“The exchange of fire continued till 2315 hrs while no incident of any injury or damage to property was reported,” he added.
