Pak fires small arms, violates ceasefire in Poonch

Jammu: In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistan troops fired small arms at forward Indian posts along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Pakistan Army last night at around 2230 hrs fired small arms and automatic weapons at Indian posts in Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch,” official spokesman said.

He said that the firing lasted for about one hour but Indian Army exercised restrain.

Pakistan earlier also on October 17 and 18 violated ceasefire truce in Gountriyan area of Poonch district.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Rangers fired at Indian posts on International Border in R S Pura Sector here yesterday to give cover fire to the intruders.

BSF also raised the issues of ceasefire violations and infiltration bids at a flag meeting with counterparts at Octroi Post.
