Condemns killing of Altaf Ahmad, describes it not less than a murder

Boniyar (Uri): Describing the killing of Altaf Ahmad in a firing incident at Boniyar, Uri in North Kashmir not less than a murder, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today assured that government would spare no effort in handing over severe punishment to the culprits adding that justice would be given to the bereaved family at all costs.
“Even if we have to move any court or take course to any law to punish the personnel behind the killing of Altaf Ahmad, we would do so positively”, he asserted adding that the loss of a young life is highly unfortunate and deep sorrow giving not only to the bereaved family but to everyone. “When a precious life is lost in such a circumstance in which Altaf Ahmad was killed, it is all the more pain giving”, he said sharing the grief of the bereaved family and expressing his heartfelt condolence to it.
The Chief Minister this morning flew from Jammu to Boniyar, Uri and walked the distance of about 2 kilometers from Boniyar to village Sakin Brinyat on foot to personally console the bereaved family and assure justice.
Omar Abdullah remained with the bereaved family, consoled its members, expressed his solidarity with them and offered fateh for peace to the departed soul.
Addressing a public gathering there, the Chief Minister said that his current visit to the remote village is only to console the bereaved family and assure that the killers of Altaf Ahmad would not be allowed to go scot-free.
“I have not come here today for any other purpose but to meet the family of Altaf Ahmad who lost their dear one in the firing incident yesterday. “I have come to express my deep sorrow to the bereaved family and share their gloom and grief”, he said adding that the loss of a young person is of great pain not only for the family but to all. “We stand by the family at this juncture”, he said.
Referring to the development demands presented by the elders of the area, the Chief Minister said that this is not the time to discuss other matters but to console the bereaved family and give them heart to bear the loss of their dear young son. However, the Chief Minister said that he would ask the R&B to take up the construction of dilapidated road from Boniyar to Sakin Brinyat under PMGSY or some other scheme.
Minister for PHE, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Minister of State for Home, Nasir Aslam Wani and Director General Police, Kuldeep Khoda were accompanying the Chief Minister. (KMW News)
