None other than Kashmiris can feel the pain of disappeared: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, (KMW News): APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the real motive of observing ‘International Week of Disappeared’ was to demand the return of thousands of people who were subjected to enforced disappearance across the globe.
He also said the day was observed to take measures for alleviating the problems of the families of the victims.
APHC Chairman said that none other than Kashmiris can feel the pain of the persons who were subjected to enforced disappearance by the troops. He said that more than 10,000 people have been subjected to enforced disappearence in kashmir so far while as 9,500 unmarked graves too have been discovered. He said the family members of disappeared persons are suffering from pain from past 23 years. He said they are looking for their return, but they have been crumbled under the weight of waiting for their dear ones.
Mirwaiz said the silence of international community in this regard was contrary to human values and it seems they were attempting to provide protection to crimes committed by the state. He said it is the duty of International bodies like UN and Human Rights organisations to play an active role and press the Indian government to return the thousands of people who were subjected to enforced disappearance from Kashmir by their troops.
APHC Chairman said that thousands of women have become widows and equal number of children have become orphans in the past 23 years. He said it was the duty of kashmiri nation to take care of them and provide them help whatever they need.
Mirwaiz said that the APHC has strengthened its HR cell and documented the statistical record pertaining to enforced disappearances, prisoners, and affected families. He said in the recent future APHC would formulate an effective startegy to deal with these human issues.
APHC Chairman has also appealed active HR organisations in Kashmir and people in general to divert their attention towards these issues of serious nature and provide every sort of help to the affected families. He has also appealed the ulemas to throw some light on the disappearance issue in their respective Masjids during the incoming Friday sermons.
Meanwhile, on the completion of 10 years of shopping incident, APHC Chairman has played flying tributes to Asiya and Neelofer and said that the perpetrators of the crime are still roaming scot free.
