Shimla, Sep 19 Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated in the state assembly on Tuesday that Congress Government would open need based institution before creating functional posts for the new institutions.
Replying to a query raised by Congress MLA, Ajay Solanki during the question hours , Chief Minister stated that number of institutions were opened by the previous BJP rule recklessly and posts were not created to run on such institutions. He said this forced the government to wind up number of educational institutions recently.
He said concern of member are correct as many instituions are running without proper staff. He said Government is rationalizing the staff strength in all the educational institutions but it is not possible for the present government to fill up the all the posts of those institutions which was opened without any popular public demand.
Replying to another query raised by the Independent member KL Thakur, chief minister said during the previous government 1766 cases were rejected on the compensatory ground and only 25 per cent of vacant post filled. He said,” Congress Government has constituted a high-level committee to frame the policy of compensatory ground. Replying to a query raised by KL Thakur, Chief Minister said government is sensitive towards the issues and it would fill up the post on the compensatory ground soon after having the report of committee.
Former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur intervened during the reply of Chief Minister and said Congress Government is misleading the house about creation of new posts and opening of new institutions as many of them open-ended are closed down without any discrimination.
He accused the government that since Ajay Solanki is new member of state he is trying to cover up the issue of vacancy, however , state has the highest literacy rate in the country as it had surpassed state of Kerala, chief minister should not think that all of us are illiterates here in the House.
Thakur said Government is trying to put entire blame of not filling the vacant post on the previous government ,however, it was ten months in power and it was still blaming the former ruler. Mr Thakur said government should inform the house about the committee constituted for filling up new posts on the compensatory ground.
He said backlog are pending in the number of boards and department of such illegible candidates but state is sitting on the backlog.
