New Delhi, June 9 Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday said India is paying a heavy price for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “clean chit” to China.

“Our territorial integrity is being impinged upon by audacious Chinese military construction at the LAC, now in Uttrakhand,” he wrote in a tweet.
Kharge, who has been attacking the ruling dispensation over the Chinese issue, said, “The nation is paying a heavy price for Modi ji’s ‘clean chit’ to China.”
He added, “China should be confronted strategically together, and not by making hollow boasts.”
Last week, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi said, “China has occupied our territory. Its an accepted fact. They have occupied 1,500 sq km of land, and it is absolutely ‘unacceptable’. However, PM Modi seems to believe otherwise. May be he knows something we don’t know.”
Earlier, the Congress party in a statement said, “PM Modi’s ‘clean chit’ to China in 2020 proved very dangerous for us. His silence on the 1,500 sq km of Indian territory controlled by China since 2020 speaks of his complete failure on the national security front.”
