Srinagar: While reiterating call for a complete strike tomorrow, Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday announced to lay foundation stone of “Martyr’s Memorial Wall” in remembrance of martyrs at Eidgah in old city here tomorrow.     “We had announced to lay the martyr’s memorial wall on July 13, 2007. But the government did not allow it. Insha-Allah (Good willing) we will lay the foundation stone tomorrow to member tens and thousands of martyrs,” Mirwaiz told a gathering while delivering Friday sermon at historic Jamia Masjid here.Mirwaiz also announced that the ‘Martyr’s Memorial Wall’ will be build in every district of Jammu and Kashmir. “The main aim to build the memorials is keep the sentiments alive in the minds and hearts of the people,” he added. Appealing people to join rally tomorrow, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq vowed that the freedom movement would be taken to its logical conclusion.“I appeal people to participate in huge numbers in the rally. The best way to pay homage to the martyrs is to take their mission to its logical conclusion,” he said wile reiterating call for complete shutdown on Saturday. “Tomorrow we will again show that we continue our support to this pious struggle and will continue to do so till we achieve our goal.”  Mirwaiz also urged people to maintain discipline during the rally. “We will assemble at Mirwaiz Manzil (at Rajouri Kadal) and move towards Eidgah. But at the same time, we will ensure that discipline is maintained. Anyone who watches should realize that they are paying homage to the martyrs,” he said.       May 21 marks the martyrdom anniversary of Moulana Muhammad Farooq, who was killed by on May 21, 1990 and Abdul Gani Lone who was killed on May 21, 2002. Referring to the programs by the amalgam in connection with the “martyr’s week”, he said that these programs were organized to keep the memory of the martyrs alive.  “More than two decades have elapsed since Moulana Mohammad Farooq attained martyrdom but we observe the martyr’s week every year to keep the memories fresh among the people,” he said, adding, “This also gives message to our detractors who say people are tired for Azadi and want normal business, want to participate in the elections, etc. This is an answer to them.” After completion of prayers, city correspondent said that Mirwaiz led a large rally that passed through Nowhata, Bohri Kadal and other areas in the neighborhood before culminating peacefully at Mirwaiz Manzil.
