Srinagar: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Thursday reiterated the Shopian chalo call and appealed the leadership and workers to march towards Shopian on Friday.

In a statement issued to KMW News he expressed serious concern over the prevailing situation in Shopian due to continuous curfew since past 13 days and said on the Friday, Hurriyat leadership and workers will march towards Shopian to offer Friday congregational prayers at Jamia Masjid Shopian.
“It is unfortunate that the government with the help of police and CRPF had turned entire Shopian district into a garrison. “People have been forcibly caged in their homes for the past 13 days which is the height of military might. We can’t wait and act as mute spectators. Hurriyat can’t afford to leave the entire population of Shopian district at the mercy of forces so we will march towards Shopian tomorrow. Pertinently, on Wednesday Mirwaiz urged the leaders and workers to lead a march towards Shopian for Friday congregational prayers.
