Minor girl rescued from clutches of 3 youths in Udhampur

Jammu: A minor girl was rescued from the clutches of three youth in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“A minor girl came in contact, with a youth running a PCO at Jammu Railway Station, through social networking site Facebook,” a police official here said.

He added that the boy identified as Vishal lured the girl and asked her to visit Jammu following which they would go to Vaishno Devi to pay obeisance.

“The girl reached Jammu following which Vishal along with his two accomplices took her to Mata Vaishno Devi but due to heavy rush they turned towards Patnitop,” the official said adding that en route the trio harassed and molested the girl.

“On reaching Kud, a police party at a check point yesterday noticed the suspicious activities in the vehicle and they approached the girl,” he said and added that the victim narrated the incident to the police.

While the accused fled away from the spot, the girl was shifted to the Police Women Cell, Udhampur.

“She was handed over to her family while a case under Sections 366, 354 of RPC has been registered and investigations started,” the police official added.
