Srinagar: An Army man was injured in a surprise militant attack in Rajouri district of Jammu province last night. Official sources told Press Bureau of India that Constable Surinder Singh was seriously wounded when a group of heavily armed militants carried out a surprise attack on a patrolling party of Army’s 48 Rashriya Rifles (RR) in Salampur area of Dera Ki Gali belt in the district last night. The militants managed to flee from the spot after engaging Army in a brief gun battle. The injured Army man was rushed to hospital for treatment. After the encounter, reinforcements were rushed to the area for carrying out combing operations to track down the militants.
