Srinagar, Feb 19 (KMW): An alleged militant was killed and a civilian was injured in a firing incident in the central Kashmir district of Badgam this afternoon.
However, locals protested against the incident, alleging that a civilian was killed in an unprovoked firing by security forces. A defence ministry spokesman Lt Colonel N N Joshi said this evening an Army patrol party was moving towards village Dalwan in the jurisdiction of Police Station Chrar-i-Sharief, in the central Kashmir district of Badgam reportedly came under fire.
During the ensuing fire fight, one unidentified gunman got killed from whose possession, one SLR, one Pouch 04 SLR magazines, 13 SLR rounds, one grenade and PAN Card were recovered.
The PAN card is the name of identifies the Tauseef Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Pulwama.
