Militant attack in Bemina leaves 7 dead

Srinagar: Militants on Wednesday stormed a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Bemina area of Srinagar, killing five jawans and injuring seven others.

The two militants, who carried out the attack, were also killed.

According to reports, the militants attacked the camp near a school in the Bemina area and started firing at the police personnel.

The CRPF camp at Bemina is surrounded by the Police Public School and many government buildings.

This is the first suicide attack in Kashmir in the last three years with the last such incident taking place in January 2010.
