Srinagar: A suspected militant was arrested along with arms and ammunition while a hideout was busted in the Kashmir valley overnight.
Official sources said here this afternoon that a joint operation was launched by state police and 30 Rashitriya Rifles (RR) at Kari Kadal in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.
One suspected militant, Ali Mohammad Wani alias Ali Baba, was arrested along with one pistol with a magazine, 200 rounds of ammunition, two grenades and one improvised explosive device (IED).
They said during the operation at Doke Haril forest, Handwara, in the frontier district of Kupwara a militant hideout was busted.
The arms and ammunition recovered included one AK 56 rifle, 2194 rounds of AK ammunition, 12 motor bombs and 17 UBGL grenades.
No one was arrested, the sources said.
