Meeting of Town Official Language Implementation Committee Held in Srinagar

Srinagar, December 17: A meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) Srinagar was held in Srinagar today under the chairmanship of Smt. T M Sreelatha, Chief Postmaster General, Jammu & Kashmir Circle, and Chairperson of TOLIC. The meeting was attended by Heads of Offices and officers from various Central Government Departments, Principals of Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas functioning in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir. The attendees also shared their views and suggestions for the promotion of Hindi Language.

The Chairperson urged all departments to take adequate steps to work in Hindi in their respective offices and to encourage the staff by giving awards and certificates for the best performance in Hindi. She assured that every possible assistance would be provided for training of staff in TOLIC member offices.

During the meeting, the Chairperson informed attendees about upcoming initiatives by TOLIC Srinagar, including competitions such as Hindi Essay Writing, Hindi Letter Writing, and Hindi Speech Writing etc. It was also announced that a yearly magazine for 2024 will be released, and four to five members have voluntarily agreed to work on the Editorial Board.

Prateek, Director Postal Services, presented his views on fostering a working culture in the official language, Hindi, and extended a vote of thanks at the end of the meeting.
