Malhotra is new J&K Legislative Council chairman

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) vice-president and senior leader Amrit Malhotra has been appointed as new chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council.
“Mr Malhotra’s proposal was approved by Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra,” party sources said here today.
They said following his appointment, Mr Malhotra held one-to-one meetings with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Mr Vohra.
He was appointed after completion of service tenure of Arvinder Singh.
Mr Micky was the deputy chairman of the House but had been performing the duties of the office of the chairman of the Council.
