Srinagar: The Best Engineering Aids and Consultancies Pvt Ltd (BEACON) project has paid Rs 79.50 crore to the Jammu and Kashmir government for compensation to owners, whose land had been acquired for construction of roads in the frontier district of Kupwara.
An official spokesman said here today that the Chief Engineer, BEACON project, handed over a cheque of Rs 79.50 crore to Kupwara Deputy Commissioner M S Rather in his office chamber.
The amount was as compensation for the construction of road projects, from Baramulla- Kupwara-Chokibal road and Kralpora to Mealyal road, which will be provided to the people whose land has been acquired for the purpose.
