Agra: Panic gripped the Taj city of Agra as a low-intensity explosion took place in a private hospital this evening, injuring three people.
The hospital is situated on National Highway -2 on Agra-Kanpur road on the outskirts of this Uttar Pradesh city of tourist importance.
The explosive was kept in a bag under a chair in Jai hospital when it went off injuring three persons, Inspector General of Police (IG), Agra range P K Tiwari said.
He said the injured were being treated in the same hospital while the situation was normal.
The explosion was of low intensity as only the chair under which the explosive was placed got damaged and some windowpanes were broken in the blast, he added.
Mr Tiwari said the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) had been informed and forensic experts had already reached the spot along with DIG, District Magistrate and other senior officials.
He described the situation as normal and ”under control.”
