Srinagar, Feb 25 (KMW): Claiming that the seven ultras killed by the forces during the gun battle on Monday belonged to militant out-fit Lashkar-e-Toiba, Army Tuesday maintained that no one among the slain militants is a local.
According to the reports received by KMW, addressing the hurriedly convened press conference at Lalpora, Lolab, GOC Kilo Force S.K.Sunny stated that the forces recovered some vital evidences from the slain militants that reveal that they have the origin from Pakistan.
Claiming that the militants were active in the region since long time, the GOC informed the press that the Army considers the killing of the militants a ‘big’ success. “We faced lot of hardships while tracking them down, due to the bad weather and high altitudes, it was a real tough time for the forces.†However we were successful in gunning them down, he added.
The Army informed further that more militants could be present in the dense Lolab forests and that the massive search hunts is on so that no ultra could be allowed to break the cordon laid down by the forces.
