Kulgam, June 23(KMW): South Kashmir’s Kulgam district observed a complete shutdown on Tuesday to mourn the death of two local militants Javid Ahmed Bhat and Idrees Ahmed, who were killed in an encounter with forces at Redwani Kulgam on Monday morning. Besides the two militants, a civilian was also killed in forces action.
All the business establishments and shops were closed and traffic remained off the roads. People from Qaimou, Redwani, Yaripora, and other adjacent areas of the district visited in large numbers to the three slain youths houses and expresses sympathies with the bereaved families.
Groups of youth resorted to stone-pelting at Khudwani and Qaimou. Police used tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting youth who were protesting against the killing of a civilian and two militants.
