Srinagar, September 6: Reiterating that government plan to celebrate anniversary of September-7floods was insult to the injury of flood victims, the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation, President Mohammed Yasin Khan has appealed the people to boycott all such functions.
“The government is trying its best to bluff the people and make them opt for celebrations which are nothing beyond Jashn-e-Barbadi (Carnival of destruction). I appeal the people to boycott the functions on moral grounds,” Khan said adding that people should refrain their children from participating in such events.
“Though some people are trying to support the celebrations, they are those people who can go to any extent to meet their personal interests,” Khan said.
“How can we forget that the state government, which is acting on RSS remote control and has been wickedly befooling people in the name of rehabilitation and now speaks of some ‘development package’. The flood hit people need to rise to the occasion,” Khan said.
This is the height of callousness that the government wants to dance on the destruction of Kashmir.
He appealed the people to make it to Lal Chowk on September 7 at 2:00 PM to participate in the 2-hour event to felicitate the brave heart people.
