Srinagar, April 17: The premier law college of Kashmir Kashmir Law College or KLC is a private law school situated at Khawja pora, Nowshera, Srinagar is currently in the news for all the wrong reasons . Being one of the prominent law colleges ofv Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the premier law institute of the state. It offers undergraduate 3 years law courses, 5 Year Integrated B.A. LL.B. courses is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi and affiliated to University of Kashmir.
Heavy ruckus and chaos was witnessed in the campus few days back . Third Semester students of Kashmir Law College Nowshera Srinagar alleged that the students of 8th Semester humiliated , abused, harassed and threatened them.

Worryingly several videos emerged from the campus of the college, in which female students could be heard making cries also shouting and unfortunately enough many students were seen having a scuffle. In another video, few girls, seemingly students could be heard saying that their seniors gave life threats to them.
The authorities of the Kashmir Law College (KLC) Nowshera Srinagar who have been lethargic over this grim episode have suspended class work at the campus for two days following a scuffle between the senior and junior batches of students.

In the campus the eyewitness have stated that the scuffle took place following an exchange of heated arguments between the students of 8th semester and 3rd semester on Thursday.

Allegations and counter allegations have been much high as the senior students rejected the allegations and said that the 3rd semester students “misbehaved” with them when they asked them not to indulge in ragging of first semester students.

It is worth noting that Ragging is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, and shall also be liable to a fine which may extend to Rs. 10,000 under section 4 of the Act.02.

The Administration of Kashmir Law College has failed miserably in handling the situation as Kashmir Law College is becoming day by day quite lethargic and inefficient .
