SRINAGAR, NOV 25 : Joint Resistance Leaders (JRL) comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Dr. Mohammad Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik has called for a complete shutdown against the brutal killings of about 18 Kashmiries in last 3 days and injuring hundreds by the indiscriminate use of bullets, pellets and other oppressive measures by Indian occupational forces. This shutdown will be observed on Monday November 26, 2018.

JRL in its statement said that Indian occupational forces at the behest of colonial authorities have crossed every limit of tyranny and enjoying a complete immunity, these barbaric forces are spilling the blood of Kashmiries at will without any remorse.

While paying rich tributes to martyrs who laid down their lives at Shopian, Bijbihara, Pampora during last three days, Leaders said that Kashmir has been turned into a slaughter house where Indian forces are free to kill, maim, torture, vandalise, harass common people which has only one purpose to enforce and strengthen a military occupation.

JRL said that Indian colonial mind-set using its brute force is responsible for all violence in valley as it suppressed the peaceful resistance of Kashmiries in especially in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2016 with police and military might, chocked every little space on peaceful activities and continues to suppress peaceful resistance with military and police might.

JRL said that India from last seventy one years has failed to recognize Kashmiri aspirations for right to self-determination and instead of accepting the reality, is busy killing Kashmiries, maiming, incarcerating and torturing them. All this is being done in the name of so-called democracy and peace which in fact is worst kind of autocracy and dictatorship.

JRL said that from 1990, especially, Kashmiri youth have been rendering valuable sacrifices for right to self-determination and today when Shopian killings have pierced our hearts and saddened us all, we pay homage to these martyrs and pray for their heavenly abode.

Terming the brutal attack on common people and civilians in which hundreds have been injured, as worst act of state sponsored terrorism, JRL said that this bloodbath has plunged whole Kashmir into a state of mourning. Appealing Kashmiries to observe a complete shutdown against this killing spree on 26th November 2018, JRL said our protest against state sponsored terrorism should send a firm signal to Indian oppressor’s that tyranny and oppression can’t defeat our valour and passion for right to self determination.
