Srinagar, May 3: In an important meeting by Jammu and Kashmir Young Journalist Association JKYJA on the eve of world press freedom day the resolve to promote and preserve the Journalistic ethics were vowed.
Mr. Ajaz Ahmad War, President JKYJA stated -“Today journalists worldwide are facing lot of problems and during the year many journalists have sacrifices their life for the cause of pen. Even journalists in Kashmir are also facing constant perils wrrein delivering their professional duties.â€
Mr. War added that problems of young journalists have always been our key concern and we stress on all stakeholders to ensure that young journalists of the state get wages on time and the desired respect.
It was reaffirmed in the meet that promoting professionalism and curbing rotten practices is the need of the hour.
JKYJA lauded the sacrifices of journalists in Kashmir over three decade old turmoil.
The meet also called to formulation of efficient and broad based advertisement policy especially for online portals.
