J&K to Host National Water Sports

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir is hosting National White Water Slalom kayaking & canoeing Championship. The championship will be held in River Sindh at Sonmarag from 26th of September to 30th September. Paddlers from different States of the country and affiliated units of Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association will participate in the championship. The championship is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Kayaking and Canoeing Association and Sponsored by J&K tourism department and J&K State Sports Council. Two individual (K1 and C1) and two team events (3xK1 and 3xc1) will be held in the championship. Slalom Course for championship is being prepared at Sonmarag and all the necessary arrangements for the championship are in progress. Minister for Sports R.S Chib will inaugurate the championship.(KMW News)
