Srinagar, June 7: J&K Bank commissioned a new state-of-the-art premises of business unit at Puhroo amid the gathering of businessmen, farmers, senior citizens and local residents of the area.
The bank’s Zonal Head Kashmir Central-(II) Tasaduq Ahmad inaugurated the new premises in presence of Cluster Head Budgam Mohammad Shafi Bhat.
Speaking on the occasion, Zonal Head said, “As a responsible institution, we remain committed to provide accessible and high-tech banking facilities to the people across the state.”
Meanwhile, to review achievements under Annual Credit Plan 2015-16 till March 31, 2016 the bank convened a DLRC meet of district Baramulla at Dak Bungalow Baramulla under the Chairmanship of Joint Director Planning Abdul Gani Malik.
The Meeting was also attended by representatives of RBI, NABARD, Banks and Line Departments.
Lead District Manager, Baramulla informed the house that under ACP 2015-16 the banks in the district have disbursed Rs 1148.33 Cr among 48541 beneficiaries across the district under various schemes thereby achieving 61.57 pc of the target.
Under priority sector, the banks disbursed Rs 514.88 Cr in agriculture sector, 240.55 Cr in Small Enterprises and Rs 45.71 Cr in Services sector against the targets of 866.31 Cr, Rs 355.25 Cr and Rs 224.88 Cr respectively.
Under agriculture sector the Year on Year (YoY) growth was 15.55 pc, while as the CD ratio of the district was 72.83.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLRC advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work with cooperation to achieve the goals and targets of development besides generation of employment for unemployed youth of the district.
He also directed all line departments and banks to conduct awareness programmes at Village and block levels to generate proper awareness among the people.
