J&K Bank donates computer lab, library to Kapran Hr Sec

Srinagar: J&K Bank today donated 25 computer systems and books to Government Higher Secondary School Kapran, Shopian.

The Bank’s Executive President Parvez Ahmad inaugurated the computer lab and library section in presence of Chief Education Officer (CEO) Abdul Hamid Kumar, Principal Nissar Ahmad Malik, Zonal Head Mushtaq Ahmad Mir and Cluster Head Javeed Ahmad Bhat.
The function held within the school premises was attended by a large gathering of students, staff, senior citizens and local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, Parvez Ahmad said, “It is moment of delight for me to fulfill the promise made by our Chairman and CEO Mushtaq Ahmad during the inaugural ceremony of Kapran B.U. These assets would contribute to the overall development of this area in the longer run. ”
We work for the prosperity of people and all our business and profits flow from this spirit, he added.
He said, “At J&K Bank, we believe in the philosophy of empowerment which in essence begins with education. We think, our new generation irrespective of socio-economic background and geography must have easy access to IT, which is main driver of development today.”
With a view to facilitate IT enabled education, we have donated these systems and hope that the students of this school along with others from the surrounding villages will avail these facilities to hone their talent and brighten their future prospects, he added.
Urging the youth to explore self-employment ventures with localized importance, he said, “J&K Bank is committed to support you financially for all your viable and sustainable business ventures.”
He suggested the school authorities to identify downtrodden and under-privileged children of the area and impart short-term courses in IT to them so that the benefits of these facilities are shared among a larger section of society in and around the Kapran area. The authorities accepted the suggestion.
He further added that education is the basic right of every citizen and it empowers the individuals to participate in the economic, social and political progress and acquire advanced skills throughout the life.

Principal of the school expressed gratitude towards the Bank saying, “J&K Bank is really working on the philosophy of empowerment which is more comprehensive and futuristic in approach.”
Zonal Head also spoke on the occasion.
Knowledge and its efficient management is the decisive factor for success today and there cannot be better investment in future than in the education itself, he said.
Earlier, in his welcome address, CEO thanked the Bank’s Chairman Mushtaq Ahmed for donating such valuable assets to the school.
The participants hailed Chairman for his vision and integrity.

Notably, the Bank recently established a Business Unit in Kapran to provide its residents world-class banking facilities and enable them to share the fruits of financial empowerment under-way across the state.
