Speaking on the occasion, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee commended both the retiring executives for their long, dedicated, and valuable service to the Bank. He said, “The retirement of senior leaders invariably entails a loss of accumulated experience, institutional memory, and professional wisdom. Both Rakesh Koul and Syed Rais Maqbool have contributed meaningfully to the Bank’s growth through their competence, integrity and commitment across the important responsibilities entrusted to them.”

Emphasising the importance of leadership continuity, he added, “With a well-defined succession plan in place, the responsibility now rests with the emerging leadership to take up the mantle and build upon the legacy of the outgoing officers.” The MD & CEO wished both the retiring executives good health, happiness, and a fulfilling post-retirement life.

Known for his gentle disposition and thorough professionalism, General Manager Rakesh Koul joined the Bank on October 25, 1989. Expressing his gratitude at the farewell meet, General Manager Rakesh Koul said, “I remain deeply grateful to the Bank’s leadership and all my colleagues for their trust, guidance, and unwavering support throughout my career. It has been an honour to serve and be part of Jammu and Kashmir’s leading financial institution. Whatever I have achieved professionally, I owe in large measure to the opportunities, guidance and affection extended to me by the J&K Bank family.”

Reflecting on his association with the Bank, General Manager Syed Rais Maqbool said, “J&K Bank has been much more than a workplace for me; it has been a defining part of my life and identity. I sincerely thank the leadership and generations of colleagues whose trust, encouragement and caring companionship enriched my journey. I feel privileged to have witnessed and contributed, in my own measure, to this great institutional story of transformation from J&K.”
