Jhelum crosses all time high of 35 feet at Sangam

 Srinagar, Sep 5 :The flood situation in Kashmir has further worsened with Jhelum and its tributaries running an all time high at various places in the valley following incessant rains during the past four days.

According to Flood Control Room (FCR), the water level in the river Jhelum at Sangam on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in south Kashmir has crossed 35 feet, which is about 12 feet above danger mark. This is the highest water level of Jhelum recorded at Sangam.

Official sources said the water flow measuring gauge is now under water.
