Kashmir’s Icestock Star Shines Again as Faheem Masood Shah Bags Four Medals at Gulmarg Nationals

By. Mohammad Sibtain Shah
The post 5 August, 2019 realities have been very hard for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, pushed us further towards uncertainty and lack of democracy. As we are well  aware that we were hit hard on the fateful day of 5 August, 2019 with we not just losing the special status in form of article 370 but as well as losing our statehood.
In addition to this we lost a good amount of area and people as Ladakh region was converted into an separate Union territory.
All history and Geography of Jammu and Kashmir was tormented just by the mode of Parliament Majority approach without giving the age old trusted institution of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, which had fought many battles for Country  .
All these decisions were taken without consulting and whole main stream leadership including my own top leadership of Congress along with grassroot leaders were imprisoned, without even caring a bit the sacrifices we had given in ensuring Jammu and Kashmir comes back from the brink of mayhem and put it back on tracks of peace and progress.
While doing all this it was forgotten than since past more than three decades we have seen lot of pain and destruction.
The worries related to our jobs and land rights have been sidelined and by introducing a twisted definition of Domicile, realities hardened for us as it lays very dangers on our economic and land rights. Although the leadership of many mainstream parties has been released but still many continue to languish in jails, this at a time when whole world is in grip of Coronavirus. When whole world is emptying it’s jails both the Central Government and local administration is not showing desires will to release political prisoners.
In between these months of silence, the ruling BJP at centre has ensured murder of democracy here as BDC or Panchayat Elections have been just a farce with no opposition in it and it made just a mockery in form of BJP vs BJP battle.
No concrete initiative have come up to  give masses relief as administration of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has remained mostly confined to cozy chambers, be it Coronavirus or any other daily challenge in absence of elected representatives, no state structure the people of Jammu and Kashmir are feeling hopeless. The youth which are our hope are getting further away from the mainstream of the country which should ring alarm bells.
The need of the hour is to restore the statehood as soon as possible in the Jammu and Kashmir and ensure that dialogue is started with the estranged sections of mainstream and ensure youth get it’s due recognition  .
The realties call on upon us that we need  to set the lethargic and over possessive towards media limelight of administration in correction mode and ensure real work done for the people, as administration is seen missing when it comes to addressing grievances.
The people of Jammu and Kashmir need healing balm to see end to their pain and for this to happen the Central Government should give due attention to reviving the mainstream politics and do away with the humongous blunders of past  .
