The Prophet and Messenger upon whom Allah Almighty Himself and all His angels send blessings is the radiant sun of Prophethood, the Seal of the Prophets, the comfort of Amina’s heart, the Sovereign of Madinah, and the Leader of both worlds — Hazrat Muhammadur Rasulullah (SAW).

In this regard, Allah Almighty declares in the Holy Qur’an –

“Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O believers, invoke blessings upon him and salute him with worthy greetings of peace.”

(Surah Al-Ahzab, Ayat 56)

The brief interpretation of this verse is that we should send blessings and peace upon the Messenger (SAW) and show respect and honor to him. First, Allah Almighty Himself and His angels honor and bless the Prophet. Then Allah Almighty instructs all believers to do the same.

Therefore, O believing brothers, let us all send blessings upon the Prophet:

Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammad, wa ‘ala alihi wa ashabihi wa sallim.

2.

It is narrated in a Hadith Qudsi:

“Law laka lama khalaqtul-aflak.”

Meaning: “O Muhammad, had it not been for you, I would not have created the heavens and the universe.”

Thus, it appears that Allah Almighty created this mortal world for the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

It should be remembered that the day of joy that we observe in honor of the Prophet under the name Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi or Eid-e-Seerat-un-Nabi is a day of expressing happiness and respect for the Prophet, and of remembering his life, character, and noble appearance.

Allah Almighty sent prophets or messengers for the guidance of every nation and community. Every prophet bore the Seal of Prophethood upon his back. For this reason, all the prophets and messengers sent by Allah Almighty are described as being protected from sin — Ismat-e-Anbiya, meaning that all prophets were sinless.

And the Companions of the Prophet are described as “As-Sahabatu Kulluhum ‘Udul”, meaning that all the Companions are upright and trustworthy and are regarded as a standard of truth.

3.

Read the titles or honorific names associated with the prophets of different communities after their names in the declaration of faith –

La ilaha illallah, Adam Safiyyullah!

There is no deity except Allah; Adam is the Chosen One of Allah!

La ilaha illallah, Nuh Najiyyullah!

There is no deity except Allah; Noah is the Saved One of Allah!

La ilaha illallah, Musa Kalimullah!

There is no deity except Allah; Moses is the one who conversed with Allah!

La ilaha illallah, Ibrahim Khalilullah!

There is no deity except Allah; Abraham is the Friend of Allah!

La ilaha illallah, Ismail Zabihullah!

There is no deity except Allah; Jesus is the Spirit of Allah!

La ilaha illallah, Dawud Khalifatullah!

There is no deity except Allah; David is the Vicegerent of Allah!

La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasulullah (SAW)!

There is no deity except Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah!

Regarding Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Prophet of the entire world, Allah Almighty declares in the Holy Qur’an:

“Wa ma arsalnaka illa rahmatan lil-‘alamin.”

“We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds.”

(Surah Al-Anbiya, Ayat 107)

In a brief explanation, the word “Al-‘Alamin” is the plural of “Alam” (world). It encompasses human beings, angels, jinn, animals, plants, liquids, fire, water, and inanimate objects. The Messenger (SAW) is a mercy to all of them.

On the Day of Judgment, Hazrat Adam (AS) himself will say:

“Ya nafsi, ya nafsi” — “Myself, myself!”

And our Prophet, the Prophet of the entire world (SAW), will say:

“Ya Ummati, ya Ummati” — “My Ummah, my Ummah!”

Therefore, in honor of the Prophet, let us observe Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi or Seerat-un-Nabi with respect and reverence.

In honor of the Prophet, let us recite:

Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ‘ala ali Sayyidina Muhammad, wa barik ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ‘ala ali Sayyidina Muhammad.

May Allah Almighty bless our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his family, and his Companions.
