Jal Shakti Department appeals general public to use drinking water judiciously

SRINAGAR, JULY 20: The Jal Shakti Department authorities today appealed to the general public to use the drinking water judiciously and avoid wastages/misuse of water by using it in lawns, kitchen-gardens, washing of vehicles, etc.

It has been given out that due to increase in temperature in Kashmir Valley the consumption/drawls of water supply have increased considerably, which has resulted in shortage of water supply in some parts of Srinagar City especially in tail end areas.

The consumers using direct online boosters were also appealed to stop this practice immediately for equitable distribution of water supply in their respective areas. “This is an offence under Jammu & Kashmir Water Resources Regulation and Management Act 2010 and the department shall be forced to take action against all such offenders,” read the statement issued here.

Meanwhile, for any complaints/grievances regarding scarcity/ shortage of water supply, the general public has been requested to contact the PHE Provincial Control Room which remains functional round the clock for the service of the general public.
