Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme Inaugurated in Srinagar

Srinagar, February 21: The Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme was formally inaugurated at SCERT Bemina on 20th February, 2026. The initiative is being organised by Mera Yuva Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The five-day programme has brought together 37 youth delegates from Delhi, offering them an opportunity to experience the cultural richness, traditions and social fabric of Jammu & Kashmir.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Nighat Aman, SSP, underscored the transformative power of youth participation in nation-building. She emphasised that such exchange programmes serve as bridges of understanding, fostering unity, mutual respect and a shared sense of national identity among young citizens.

Deputy Director, Mera Yuva Bharat Srinagar, Pardip Kumar welcomed the delegates and highlighted the broader vision of the initiative — empowering youth through exposure, dialogue and cultural exchange. He noted that such engagements help break stereotypes and build lasting bonds across regions.

Among the dignitaries present were Rahi Rayaz, Imran Khan, representatives from Bharat Scouts and Guides, and volunteers of Mera Yuva Bharat, who reaffirmed their commitment to promoting youth leadership and collaborative nation-building efforts.

The programme will feature cultural interactions, field visits and interactive sessions designed to encourage dialogue and deepen inter-state understanding.
