New Delhi, July 13 The Congress on Wednesday launched a fresh attack on the Modi government, saying pressing issues like inflation and unemployment are not on its agenda.
The grand old party also questioned the silence of the government over these issues and demanded concrete steps to mitigate the sufferings of people.
“Rising inflation, unemployment and depreciating rupee shows the incompetence of the BJP government. Any government can bring relief to the common masses with a sympathetic attitude, leaving its apathetic attitude,” Congress spokesperson Gourav Vallabh said here.
Accusing the BJP of communal polarization, Vallabh said: “It has become very evident where the focus of the Modi government has been in the last eight years. Only on two things they focus on – polarise the society and create disharmony in the social fabric of our country.”
Polarisation and disharmony have taken a front seat of the Modi government whereas distressing issues such as inflation, unemployment and depreciating rupee were nowhere in its agenda, he alleged.
“The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are not tools that can bring relief from rising inflation and rising unemployment. The Modi government should move beyond the petty politics and end the sufferings of the public,” the Congress said.
