Srinagar: Chief Patron Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) Muhammad Azam Inqilabi Sunday took strong notice of news reports emerging that Indian government is pushing state government for Amarnath cave road widening.

In a statement here, Inqilabi warned against any such move saying “it will badly affect Kashmir environment, ecology and bio-diversity.”
“Pahalgam glaciers provide drinking water to entire valley. Ecological imbalance in the area will severely affect its glaciers and deprive people of drinking water,” he said.
He alleged that Indian government is politicizing Amarnath cave yatra and destroying Kashmir environment.
“If this trend continues it has potential that Kashmiris will take it as matter of life and death. People in villages and cities will come on streets and fight hand to hand with Indian police and its forces,” he added.
MeA patron said in this situation “conscious Azad Kashmiris will cross over to this side and be part of this fight.”
Eventually, he said, this will bring India and Pakistan close to war.
Inqilabi said “it is high time for India to shun its rigidity and show seriousness for resolution of Kashmir dispute.”
He said “Kashmiris are already enraged over India’s actions in Kashmir.”
“We demand our right of self-determination and India replies with brute force. Even minors are booked under draconian laws. Thousands are languishing in jails. Resistance leadership is tortured in jails as well,” he said.
On Students protest against Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Kashmir University, Inqilabi said, “The way students protested shows their patriotism and their sentiment towards the freedom struggle.”
He said the students have conveyed a message to Delhi durbar that “this nation won’t compromise on its demand of freedom.”
MeA patron said Indian leaders are suffering from arrogance of power and want to defeat Kashmiris by their imperialist designs.
“Before making Kashmir issue more complex, it is better for India to withdraw its forces from Kashmir. Release all political prisoners. Revoke draconian legislations. Allow resistance leadership to carry on their activities peacefully,” he said.
Inqilabi said we want complete demilitarization of Kashmir on either side of Loc. “Kashmiris through a united-Kashmir parliament will decide their fate in a democratic manner. This will guarantee peace in entire South Asia.” (KMW News)
