IGNOU and GDC Drass Hosts Interactive Session on Pre-admission Counselling

Kargil, July 12: The Government Degree College (GDC) Drass, in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Centre Srinagar, organized an interactive session on pre-admission counselling today at the colleg campus in Drass.

Principal GDC Drass, Nasir ul Mehdi Shabani, welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of education in today’s competitive world. He highlighted the benefits of pursuing dual courses under the National Education Policy (NEP) and envisioned a community that actively participates in and supports educational initiatives.

Guest speaker of the event, Dr. Mohd Abdullah, Assistant Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, delivered a comprehensive talk on admission procedures, assignments, and examinations through IGNOU. He also provided an overview of the various courses offered by the university.

The session was moderated by Mr. Sajad Hussain, Assistant Professor, who ensured a smooth and engaging discussion. The programme was attended by students enrolled in IGNOU courses, as well as students of GDC Drass.

The NCC cadets of the college and resource persons were felicitated by Principal GDC Drass, Nasir ul Mehdi Shabani.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Dr. Abdullah and the Principal of GDC Drass for their valuable contributions.
