National Training Programme for Booth Level Officers of Drass and Taisuru Tehsils held in Kargil

Kargil, July 12: A District Election Officer (DEO) level training programme under the National Training Programme for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Drass and Taisuru Tehsils was successfully conducted today at the Conference Hall, Baroo, Kargil. The training aimed to enhance preparedness for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and Special Summary Revision processes.

The event was graced by key dignitaries, including District Election Officer/ Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS); Tehsildar Taisuru, Mr. Salim; Election Officer Kargil Zakir Hussain; State Level Master Trainer (SLMT) Mohd Amin and other trainers Zakir Hussain Karbalie and Sajad Hussain, along with Supervisors and BLOs from Drass and Taisuru blocks.

The DEO Level Training under NTP for BLOs 2025 continued for the third consecutive day and there are still two more training days scheduled to cover all the Tehsils of Kargil District which will be completed on July 16, 2025.

Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar emphasized the importance of BLOs completing the Special Intensive Revision on top priority, setting a goal to make Kargil district the first to successfully complete the process.

The training was divided into three interactive and informative sessions. The first session was onducted by SLMT Mohd Amin that covered objectives and procedures of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Duties and responsibilities of BLOs, handling of enumeration forms, publication of draft rolls, panel provisions, and constitutional guidelines, general duties and conduct of BLOs.

The second session was conducted by Zakir Hussain Karbalie, who explained the use of mobile applications by BLOs to streamline electoral work, and tools and technologies to improve field efficiency.

The third session was led by Sajad Hussain, who gave a detailed overview of the Voter Helpline App (VHA) and its effective use in public service and electoral assistance.

At the end of the training, all participants were provided with test papers to assess their understanding of the sessions. The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to all attending BLOs and supervisors.

This training marks a significant step in ensuring the readiness and capability of BLOs in conducting error-free, transparent, and efficient electoral revisions in Kargil district.
