Srinagar, (KMW News): A meeting of the Executive council chaired by Chairman Syed Ali Geelani was held at its party Headquarters Hyderpora and leaders or the representatives of Employees Movement, Mass Movement, Muslim League, Muslim Conference, Tehreek E Wahdat E Islami , People’s League, Democratic Political Movement, Muslim Khawateen Markaz, People’s Freedom League and Tehreek e Hurriyat participated in the meeting.
The meeting expressed its sorrow over the disaster caused in Uttarakhand and observed that there are every apprehension and if preventive measures are not followed and in case sixteen thousand yatris are allowed to pay visit to Amaranth cave, it would have detrimental effect on the fragile atmosphere and added that it would create serious environmental problems in Kashmir and may even cause mass casualties as likewise that of in Utrakhand. Hurriyat Conference while reiterating its demand said that environment in the state is highly sensitive and urged to limit the Yatra period to 15 days and number of yatris to 150 per day.
Environment being highly fragile and sensitive executive added that Indian policy makers not only want to meet their political objectives but under the garb of a simple religious tradition are heel bent to disturb the environment and put the lives of yatris in danger .The executive council while reiterating its demand to handover the management of Shrine Board to local Pandits, in a unanimous voice said that shrine board headed by Governor is working like a parallel administration in state. The board instead of looking the management of Yatra, and added is under one point program working to strengthen the Indian occupation. Executive council took strong notice and strongly criticized the decision of prohibiting the local school children from visiting the said places and added that it is the worst type of Indian imperialism .It is highly deplorable said executive council that the locals have to seek permission while as the people living outside state have no such restrictions. Terming the ban a colonial approach the executive council said that this tradition was established by the Britain and recalled that they had prohibited the Indians and dogs from visiting the public places and gardens and now it is being repeated by Indian authorities.
Executive council while lashing at local administration and authorities added that they do not even take into consideration their conscience or self esteem and it is for the lust of power that they with folded eyes follow every direction from Dehli. The executive council in strong words criticized the administration for operation Shiva and added that it is a stigma and a slap over so called secularism and added that its forces have attributed an operation with a particular faith and religion and said it proves that its military is actually a Hindu army and the rulers do not care about the feelings and aspirations of the minorities of the country.
