SHIMLA, 04 Dec : In a tragic incident, Six persons, working as labourers with a contractor, from Jammu and Kashmir were killed while six others were left injured when a vehicle they were travelling fell into a deep gorge at Kadharghat in Sunni sub division of Shimla district on Monday.

Meanwhile, the injured were first taken to Sunni hospital for treatment from where after giving first aid, they were referred to Indira Gandhi MedicaI College and Hospital, Shimla. In another incident reported in the outskirts of Shimla, an over speeding truck damaged 4 vehicles parked along the road.
Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed grief over the death of six persons and directed the district authorities to provide immediate relief to the next of kin of the deceased and best possible treatment to the injured.

It may be noted The accident took place at Kadharghat along Sunni-Kingal link road at around 7am, about 25km from Sunni, when the ill-fated vehicle carrying labourers was heading towards Mandi from Kadharghat.

After spotting the vehicle in the deep gorge the local people immediately informed the police about the accident. When the police team arrived at the spot, with the help of local people it launched the rescue operation and pulled out the injured from the gorge and brought them to the road and shifted them to the Sunni hospital.

According to information, three people had died on the spot, while three others succumbed to the injuries while being taken to the hospital. Police have registered a case and have started further proceedings as per law.
