Hilal War Appeals India, Pak to Declare Ceasefire

Srinagar, April 21: Jammu and Kashmir People’s Political Party ( PPP) Chairman and senior leader of Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Egineer Hilal Ahmad War today expressed serious concern over the increase in hostilities between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) and appealed both the countries to declare indefinite ceasefire amid COVID-19 pandemic so that innocent lives on both sides of Control Line aren’t lost.

“The entire globe is battling COVID-19 Pandemic; it is very unfortunate that Indian and Pakistani troops are engaged in cross-LoC fighting. We urge India and Pakistan to declare ceasefire at International Border and LoC to fight and defeat Coronavirus pandemic jointly in order to save people of Indo-Pak subcontinent from the catastrophe of this Pandemic,” said Engineer Hilal War.
Recently United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres has also appealed for global ceasefire amid COVID-19 Pandemic and said it is time to put the armed conflicts on lockdown and focus on Coronavirus oandemic. Therefore, in response to U.N Chief’s call for global ceasefire India and Pakistan should focus on fighting Coronavirus and declare immediate ceasefire.
“The killer Coronavirus has killed 1,71,000 human souls till date. This dangerous virus can move across the borders, devastate nations, therefore, India and Pakistan should rise to the occasion put aside animosity , silence the guns to end this catastrophic conflict, open diplomatic channels and pave the way for composite dialogue post Pandemic”, said Engineer Hilal.
