Hanjuru reviews relief operations in Budgam

BUDGAM, APRIL 2(KMW): Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, who is supervising the relief operations in various landslide and rain affected areas of Budgam, today visited Humpora, Lolipora, Nihalpora, Watkulu and Nilnag Gogjipathri villages and took stock of the arrangements made by the district administration. He has directed the concerned officers to remain stationed in their respective areas round the clock to ensure adequate measures are taken to provide requisite assistance to the people.

The Minister, who is camping in district Budgam since last three days along with a team of senior officers, asked the Sub District Magistrate Chadoora to provide tents and 20 kgs free ration to each affected families of Watkulu village. He also asked the concerned to ensure uninterrupted power supply, medicare and adequate drinking water facilities besides providing tanker services in the area.
Interacting with the people at different places, Mr. Hanjura assured the people that necessary directions have already been issued to the district administration for shifting of vulnerable families of Khag, Beerwah, Khan Shab and Budgam to safer places and concerned officers have also been asked to prepare a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation plan for families affected by recent rains and landslide incidents.
At Watkulu, the Minister gave on spot directions to the SDM to assess the damages caused to the property of the affected families of the village and submit the report to the concerned quarters immediately to provide the necessary relief.
The Minister asked R&B Department to ensure that all major and link roads including Chountinar and Khachwari roads remain trafficable.
Earlier, the Minister visited Syed Ali Aali (RA) Ziarat Sharief at Pakharpora and paid obeisance at revered shrine. He offered Special prayers at the Shrine for the welfare of the people and improvement of weather condition in the State.
