Srinagar: Senior Hurriyat Conference leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah Saturday called for ‘halting human rights violations’ in Jammu and Kashmir and termed it imperative for peace in entire south Asia.
“One side India claims to be strengthening ties with Pakistan, on the other side the country is continuously spelling blood of Kashmiris. Unless human rights of Kashmiris are not respected, Indo-Pak friendship is pointless,†he said in a statement from New Delhi.
Stressing on resolution of Kashmir issue, he said, “Unless human rights violations are not halted, perpetual peace will elude the south Asia.â€
Expressing grief over the death of a youth in Bijbhera blast, Shah expressed his condolences with family of bereaved. He also expressed sympathy with the injured persons, the statement said.
Shah also expressed grief over the death of Sajjad Ahmad of Batpora Sopore “who died due callousness of jail authorities,†the statement added. (KMW NEWS)
