Gul visits Eidgah, Hazratbal Takes stock of Eid arrangements

SRINAGAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister, Mr. Mubarak Gul, today, visited Hazratbal and Eidgah to take stock of the arrangements being made in connection with the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha.
MLA, Hazratbal, Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Vice Chairman, Waqaf Board, Mr. M.Y. Qadri, Director CAPD, Director, Sheep Husbandry, SP Traffic officers from SMC, R&B, PHE and PDD departments accompanied the Advisor.
Mr. Gul also visited sheep farm Zakura and was informed that department has put on sale the sacrificial animals @ Rs. 120 live per kg and earned a revenue of Rs. 2.47 lakhs since yesterday.
Mr. Gul instructed officers of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to ensure proper cleanliness in and around the historical Aali Masjid and Hazratbal shrine besides at those places where big Eid congregations are being held. He asked engineers of Power Development Department (PDD) to ensure uninterested power supply on the occasion.
The Advisor asked the Director, CA&PD to mobilize checking squads in order to maintain price line of essential commodities besides make available adequate stock of rice, sugar, cooking gas and kerosene oil on Government fixed sale outlets.
Later talking to media persons, Mr. Gul said that Divisional as well as District administrations have been asked to monitor the Eid arrangements in their respective areas and said Government has appointed zonal and sectoral magistrates to keep vigil on markets to avoid overcharging. He appealed people to cooperate with the Government in maintaining the price line of essentials.
