Government endeavour to uplift weaker sections: Slathia

Jammu: Minister for industries and commerce, Surjeet Singh Slathia has said that Government is providing equal opportunities of development of all the three regions of the state, adding comprehensive development programme have been initiated across the state.
While addressing a public meeting at Vijaypur town during his visit, today, the minister reiterated Government’s commitment to provide basic amenities to the people especially living in far-flung, remote and down trodden areas.
The minister said that the endeavours of the government are to uplift the socio-economic conditions of weaker section. He called upon the people to take benefits of various government sponsored schemes.
Responding to the demands, the minister announced construction of link road in Mahsha Mohalla in Thalori. He announced new transformer and Mark-II hand pump for the area. He directed the concern authority for construction of lanes, drains in the area. He also directed the officers to ensure that the real and deserving poor people should be entitled in the fresh BPL survey. He also announced a new tube well in the area, which will benefit the people of adjoining three villages including Amowal, Om Colony and Thalori camp.
Later, the minister inaugurated lanes and drains constructed at a cost of Rupees 2.5 lacs under RDD in Purmandal.
Responding to the demands of local people, the minister directed the RTO Samba to ensure that adequate auto service is provided in village Thalori to enhance transport facility in the area.
The minister directed the concerned authority for beautification of Pond in between main thalori and camp, which will be benefit the people in both areas.
Earlier, the minister visited the other villages including, Om Colony, Gadgad village, Simbalali and Badwal. He also took stock of various ongoing development works in the area.
Addressing the gathering, the minister said that road connectivity is plays a key role in socio-economic transformation of a society, adding that a massive road upgradation have been initiated across the state in this regard.
At Om colony, the minister announced new transformer, construction of lanes and drains and also assured for regular water supply would be provided. He announced for replacement of old transformer in Gadgad village, so that uninterrupted electricity will be provided to the villagers.
At Simbalali, the minister assured that all pending widow pension cases would be disposed off, upgradation of transformer in the area and a sewing centre will be open in the area very soon. He announced 6 Sodium street lights in the area.
Earlier, the minster also announced Rs 10 lakhs for construction of Community Facility centre in Badwal Village.
